Liposuction in Turkey has been the most common body contouring method and globally renowned aesthetic surgery since the beginning of 80s. This operation can be applied to anyone with BMI 25-31 and have regional fat accumulation problem; this operation does not cause weight loss but remove excessive body fat. In lipoplasty operations, patients must have good skin elasticity. This operation might not provide the desired results in older patients or patients with poor skin elasticity. Therefore, this operation is often combined with lifting operations in these types of patients. Another operation that can be applied with liposuction is fat injection. Collected fat tissues are injected to different parts of the body after special processing and this way both specific regional thinning and shaping in other parts can be achieved.

How is liposuction applied?
Liposuction is actually suctioning of fat cells from the body. In short, most effective solution for regional fat accumulation is liposuction. This operation cannot be applied for obesity treatment or weight losing.
A template is drawn to application region before the operation. General anaesthesia is applied and millimetric sutures are made to template. Thin cannulas are used for rupturing fat tissue by moving forward and backward. This broken fat tissue is suctioned with vacuum tools connected to cannulas. When the operation is complete, millimetric cuts are closed and operation is completed.
Which regions are suitable forliposuction?
Liposuction is regional thinning and body contouring operation and this method can be applied almost all areas. This operation can be applied to double chin, neck, arm, breast, body, back, belly, thigh, hip, knee, lower leg, genitals and ankles. According to statistic while women choose hips, belly and butt; men choose waist, double chin and belly liposuction.
Who can’t have liposuction?
People with obesity problem, diabetes, heart problem, lung disease, under 18 years old, pregnant or breastfeeding cannot have liposuction.
Is liposuction harmful?
If patient does not have any heart, diabetes or other disease that could cause a problem during operation, has nearly normal weight and below 60 years old, operation has no risk. Listening to doctor’s recommendations before and after the operation and following medical instructions play an important role to prevent risks.

When will the effects of the operationare visible?
After the operation, post-operativeoedema and bruising is normal for few weeks. To realise operationresults oedema and bruising should get healed. After the end of firstmonth, effects are visible and effects are clearly visible andnoticeable after second month.
Will there be fat accumulation afterliposuction?
Lipoplasty permanently removes fattissue. No matter what happens, fat tissue will not be produced inoperation region. However, excessive weight gaining might cause fatcells to produce. Therefore, eating and weight control are importantafter operation.
Is it possible to remove visceral fat?
Liposuction is designed to remove fat cells under the skin. Visceral fat are dangerous and active fat that is stored in stomach cavity. These fat are closed to important organs and can trigger hormones. Therefore, visceral fats cannot be removed with this operation. Only way to eliminate visceral fat is eating healthy and following an exercise program.
Can I reduce cellulite withliposuction?
Cellulite and cracks do not develop with fat tissue. These problems are caused by skin elasticity and skin quality. Liposhaping remove some of the fat cells but they do not have any effect for skin elasticity.
Is it okay to get pregnant afterliposuction? Does pregnancy effect results?
If operation and pregnancy plan areclose, postponing the operation after pregnancy is recommended. It isokay to get pregnant after 6 months. Pregnancy period does notpermanently impact operation results. When pregnancy weight are gone,it is possible to go back to previous results.
I am breastfeeding and I want to haveliposuction. Is it possible?
Since liposuction is a surgicaloperation, certain medications are given to patient. This medicationcan transfer to breastmilk. Therefore, liposuction is strictlyforbidden for the first 6 month of breastfeeding. If done after 6month, mother must stop breastfeeding for 1-2 days. Additionally,breastfeeding mother might not produce milk after this operation.Pain after the operation might prevent mother to hold her baby. Dueto all these possibilities, it is better to wait until the end ofbreastfeeding.
Does liposuction work for fataccumulation around belly after giving birth?
Definitely. In these cases, this is themost suitable operation to ensure perfect belly contour.
Will liposuction define my abs?
You need to have very low fat level for abs. Although it is not possible to build muscle with liposuction, fat from this area can be removed and it will be easier to build abs with exercise.
