Multiple Updates to Amazon Relational Database Service The Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS), which is available on the Amazon Web Services Inc.’s (AWS) cloud, recently received multiple updates. It now supports newer versions of MySQL and MariaDB, as well as PostgreSQL. Amazon RDS allows customers to use relational databases in cloud. It also handles administration functions such as hardware provisioning, database setup, patching, and backups. It supports six RDBMS options: Amazon Aurora (PostgreSQL), MySQL, MariaDB and Oracle as well as Microsoft SQL Server. AWS has announced several database version upgrades this week, as well as other updates.
